This past weekend, our team from Strand Forge attended the Game Access 2026 conference in Brno. Our main goals for the event were to gather inspiration from other game development studios and, most importantly, to establish new contacts for future collaborations. It was an incredibly intense but rewarding experience that opened up many exciting possibilities for our studio.
Connecting with Global Industry Leaders
As this was our first time attending an event of this scale, we did not know exactly what to expect. While the schedule was demanding, the final outcome exceeded our expectations. During the days spent at Game Access 2026, we had the honor of meeting many prominent figures from some of the most famous game studios in the world.
These face-to-face conversations allowed us to exchange insights on current trends in game development and build a strong foundation for potential international partnerships. Gathering this level of inspiration from established industry veterans is incredibly valuable for the future direction of Strand Forge.
Discovering Independent Talent and Freelancers
Beyond the major studios, we spent a significant amount of time engaging with the broader development community. We met numerous volunteers and freelancers who attended the conference actively looking for new career opportunities.
We always enjoy talking with independent creators because you never know when our team at Strand Forge will need to expand. Hearing their stories, reviewing their skills, and understanding their passion reminded us of how vibrant the local and international gaming community is.
Surprising Creativity from the Next Generation
A particularly inspiring part of the conference was interacting with educational institutions. We communicated with various universities and checked out their students' semester projects. However, the biggest surprise came from the students of the Secondary School of Art and Design.
These young creators proved to be exceptionally multi-talented, and the game they presented was of an impressively high standard. Seeing their dedication made it clear that supporting young talent is vital. Strand Forge is fully open to future collaborations with schools, particularly through offering student internships to help them gain real-world industry experience.
